No posts yesterday, so bucketful now. Long drive down to rotoroa, through a gorge that could hide cheddar in a corner, and a downpour , kiwis would say drop of rain, I called it a cloud burst, but we got there 😓. We stayed at Tairua the night before and tried a bbq (steak was tasty) and ended up chatting to 3 lads on a "stag weekend". Thanks fellas, brilliant time 🤪🤪🤪. Rotorua is a little too commercalised and in need of tlc, bit like blackpool, same went for campsite ( still very acceptable, clean tidy, hot tub 🥳etc). Interesting thermal park . Short drive today to Taipo, Huka falls impressive but the highlight was a walk through "Craters of the moon" , a thermal area , steam and mud vents .( 3 thermal generating stations, 3kms away produce 750000 Gw, 30% of their electric use ) Campsite 4 5pm and a soak in the thermal pool and a nice local g+t. Cheers
